American Poetry
After this unit, we will be studying American Poetry. I like to leave some choices up to my students; therefore, are there any American poets or types of poetry that you would LIKE to study? Or are there any that you feel you have studied enough and don't need to spend the time on? Any projects or assignments you have done in the past that you liked or didn't like with regard to poetry? What general attitudes about poetry do you have? Is anyone interested in writing poetry? I am open to all suggestions!! :-)

I enjoy poetry very much. But I cannot say that i know much about it or about poets. I am very interested in writing my own poetry. I think that this will be a good and fun unit for all of us, whether or not we enjoy poetry. I think everyone enjoys a type of poetry we just have to discover what poetry we relate to.
As far as american poetry is concerned I havent been exposed to any that really exited me to read more. I would like to read a poet that I think is cool but the ones that I have studied so far havent really been like that. Maybe learning a little bit about an authors life would help me appreciate what he is trying to say in his poetry.
i dont know that many american poets because i dont read poetry, but i have enjoyed all of my previous poetry lessons in the past two years soo i think its going to be fun. i really like reading out loud because i feel like i obtain a better grasp on the plot when i can actually put a face to the character.
I would like to read something interesting. I would like to read something that has plot twists, or mabey poems that are almost like short stories. For the most part i do not know about poetry so much, so i am undecited.
Poetry is not my favorite thing in the world i dont realy have anything against it but there are not any poets that I could recomend for the up comeing new unit. Im looking forward yo a new unit I guess just for some variety in the class because after a while stories and plays can get boreing.
I have read poetry before but have never been interested in it. I do not remember too many poets, especially because i have not read any poems that i liked. But i would still like to read some poetry this year and i hope there will be poems that will make me think and want to read more. I do not have any ideas of what kind of poetry we should read as a class so im going to leave it up to everyone else.
I really do enjoy reading and writing poetry. I believe it is a great way to help put your thoughts out onto paper. Poetry i enjoy most are strong poems. one that have a strong meaning to it, that leaves you shocked in the end. In school i havent really studied that much about poetry, so i think this would be a good unit to have.
