Stereotyping: Wealthy

What stereotypes are there about "the wealthy"? Do you know people who hold stereotypes even about Mendham or MHS? What are the stereotypes? Do you find them to be true sometimes? Explain.

One big stereotype of the wealthy is that they have really expensive cars. They have giant houses like the ones in bedminster. I've heard that people exspect more from us because we go to MHS. The exspect us to get good grades because of our high school. I am preety sure our school is in the top 100 in the country. That reason is the reason why our MHS is exspect above others.

People think that the rich are amazing and that if you become friends with them, you get a bit of the good life. But other sterotypes are that rich people think they are snobby. They go around and are stuck up and say that they have money and that they will get picked up by their driver. People say that if we live in Mendham we all live in big houses. Yes, some people do but there are other parts of Mendham. Also people say that we are called Mendham High and our school names describes us. Meaning we have alot of drugs here, and thats what people stereotype.

stereotypes about the wealthy are mostly true, spetially most of the mendham and chester girls who are rich, they are all spoiled and ridiculuosly mean, they just put people down because they can. because they are popular, rich and are always with their clicks of assholes. but hey, there are a lot of poor people who think they are awesome and actually they're nothing. i hold stereotypes against mendham, i think this is a school run by money, no one cares about anyone all they think about is their paycheck, its a community of rich people, well i should say a community composed mostly of rich spoiled people. and yes i find them to be true, experienced it myself.

Sterotypes about the wealthy are that they are mean and dont care about people that are beneath them. Yes, people sterotype mendham and chester kids. Drugs are a sterotype in mendham and chester because there is alot of money flowing around this area and people spend the money to buy them. Also, mendham kids are not as thankful for gifts that they get because they have had everything handed to them during they're life time. Chester kids are more thankful for what they get because not all chester families are as rich and spoiled. Kids in mendham get BMW's and Range Rovers as first cars and some parents in chester dont even have cars over 20 thousand dollars.

There are MANY stereotypes at Mendham, and most of them are true... at least for the girls. We are known to be a very wealthy school with snobby, stuck up students. When I meet new people and tell them I'm from Mendham, they automatically respond by saying 'OH so your family's really rich." And i always respond by saying, i'm no more wealthy than you. Alot of students at Mendham also aren't even that wealthy, and they get made fun of and aren't treated the same as wealthy students because their family is not ridiculously rich.

steryotypes of the rich are like i said in the other post. whiney, spoiled, stuck up, think there better than everyone else kind of people. I know alot of people who think of most rich people like that. although its hard not too because most rich kids do act like that. i do find them to be true, after comming to this school its almost a cliche.

There are a lot of sterotypes about "the wealthy". Most of them are not very nice. People assume if you are wealthy you are mean, snotty, and think that you are better then everyone else. This is not always true. I find the people that are mostly this way are not as wealty as they would like everybody to think they are. I do know people that hold sterotypes. They are easy to find in Mendham, and MHS. There are plenty of people that like to act like they are better then others in this community. There is also many nice people here. When you tell people your from Mendham they usually make a rude comment or say you must be a spoiled rich kid. Sometimes sterotypes turn out to be true but I don't really think it is fair to generalize anybody.

If someone is wealthy it doesnt mean they have all the power in the world. They have more money but thats about it. In my opinion rich people shouldn't show off and just be proud of what they have. Whenever people hear about Mendham High they think "big" or rich but thats not the case, not for everyone. There are different parts of Mendham, some are rich, others are average. And people from other regions should come and see for themselves before they can criticize any town or it's people.

There are many sterotypes about wealthy people. I have grown up in Mendham all my life. When people ask me where i live, and i respond with Mendham, its as if im this evil person. They make a disgusted face. Sterotyical face that is, of people who live in Mendham are stuck up, and believe everything has to be their way. My family has always lived in Mendham, but we are not the typical rich family. We have just enough money to get by, and thats all we need.

Most people think that in mendham there are only rich people and tyhere are no people that do not live in a mansion. At mendham there is a stereotype regarding Chester kids disliking Mendham kids because they are "stuck up". I find them to be partially true for my age group and thats all I know, I would not go so far to say that all Mendham kids are truly all "bad". hah

There are certain stereotypes about the wealthy. Some say they only care about making money no matter what the costs. They are typically stuck-up and rude towards most people in general. I do know a person who personifies this stereotype. He only cares about himself and is rude to people. He aslo considers himself better than others because of how wealthy he is. A stereotype common in mendham would be that they consider themselves better because of how much money they possess and act a certain way because of it.

most students in our schools parents have alot of money or atleast a good amount. people that dont go to the school may think that students get all there money and everything from their parents. but its not true because there are alot of students in our school that have their own jobs and provide for themsselve.
